Here are my top 5 things to do in Milan, if you only have a day:
Let's take Milan: Quite frankly, I think Milan is overrated, especially when you have to go there for work or similar it stinks! Way too many people, crazy traffic, in summer it's terribly hot, in winter terribly wet... Well all this changes when we have guests. Usually we spend a day in Milan with them before they fly back home (the airport is the next bigger one to our home). So what do we do inthose few hours before there flight, that changes the way I look at this city? It's a day full of tourist fun!
Here are my top 5 things to do in Milan, if you only have a day:
- Visit the Dome: Even if you are not catholic you will sure find appreciation for the truly impressive architecture and inside is a wonderfully quiet and cool place where you can relax for a few minutes! I don't mean that in a disrespectful way at all, it is just really amazing to find such a place in this hectic, loud city.
- Shopping: Milan is one of the world's fashion capitals, so at least a bit ofwindow shopping is part of the game. Visit Galleria Vittorio Emanuele or Via Montenapoleone for the finer shops, Corso Buenos Aires for a little bit of everything and more affordable shops (H&M, Zara and Co.), for something a bit different try Corso Venezia or the Navigli district.

- Aperitivo: Before you enjoy the nightlife of Milan, relax, lean back, have a Spritz and some free snacks! Aperitivo time is definitely my favourite time of the day and I'm not alone. So just follow the Italians and find yourself a nice place for a drink and a snack after a day full of sightseeing! Try the Ticinese, Navigli or Brera district.
